The Grand has 179 hotel rooms of which 52 are suites with additional Butler service! Sofitel Legend is one of the luxury brands of Accor. Did you know that The Grand is the only luxury brand of Accor within the Netherlands? The reason why The Grand is part of the Sofitel Legend brand is because the hotel is located in one of the most historical properties of Amsterdam. The property dates back to 1411, when the building began life as a two convents. In 1578, convents were confiscated as city property and one of the convents was used as logging for esteemed guests of city officials, such as members of European royalty. This is when the hospitality was born within The Grand.
